About the Event

In this healing ritual, working with clay provides a tangible, kinetic way to express grief. Co-participants provide witness, affirmation, and support of one another’s grief process.

Whether you are grieving the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a difficult life transition or any loss, opportunities to freely express and actively work through loss and grief are often limited. Sometimes there’s an unspoken assumption that your loss is a personal matter, and out of respect for your privacy, there’s an underlying expectation that you will deal it on your own and eventually move on. This means grief can be very isolating, which is also why we meet in a small group. Grief is complex and multi-layered. It involves many emotions. Grief that has not been fully expressed can linger and accumulate for decades. Actively expressing the many aspects of grief opens space for healing, hope and renewal.
